I’ve been pretty curious about what the Camping World partnership is going to mean for Happier Camper owners and after a few well-placed phone calls, here is what I can share - and I think it is great news for current and future owners!
Service
I’ve always been a little jealous of our west coast brethren who, if they have a repair that’s needed, can go straight to HCHQ. Granted it’s not exactly local if you live in Washington state, but you get the idea. It is at least plausible. The rest of us have always worked with someone local, which is fine, but there’s comfort in knowing that the person doing that service really knows your rig, and that’s just not likely outside of HCHQ.
For me, this is reason #1 why the partnership with Camping World is so great for both current and future owners. Going forward, Camping World and their 130+ service centers will be able to service our rigs! Their technicians will be provided with the information they need to really diagnose anything you might need help with on your HC1s and HCTs, so if you have a CW in your vicinity, you can now work with a trusted HC partner on a repair.
Wait Time
Ok, this one does only apply to a certain demographic but there COULD be a real advantage to those of you who want to buy a Happier Camper without all the bells and whistles, and you want it right now. If you check out the Camping World website, they are now selling Happier Campers, and they are in stock. The feedback I got from HC on this is the current builds being carried are pretty elemental with 3 Adaptiv rows, kitchenette and a fridge. At this time they don’t have installations like AC, solar or heaters and if you want a custom build you should still work with Happier Camper - but eventually CW will be able to do after-market accessories and components (but not yet). So if you want a camper and you want it now, and you don’t want to buy used, you have a potential source to get a rig. And then we can welcome you to our HC Owners family!
Financing
Over the years I’ve fielded a lot of questions on how to finance buying a rig. And while I can’t tell you where you are going to get the best rates, I can tell you that Camping World provides financing if you buy your rig through them. I really like this option, especially for people that are buying their first rig and are feeling a little overwhelmed - one less thing to figure out as part of the purchase process .
So all in all, I’m feeling pretty happy about this from the owner perspective. I also think it’s great for Happier Camper - and having a strategic partnership with CW is probably going to result in some new programs that will benefit both owners and buyers. Maybe I will get lucky and get an inside scoop to share with you! Stay tuned :)
