Year and Make of your Happier Camper?

2018 HC1

What’s your tow vehicle?

Currently it’s an RX5 but since I plan to take an extended mountain trip next summer I plan to upgrade to a V6 AWD shortly - maybe a Sorento and possibly a 4Runner.

Why did you buy a Happier Camper?

I’ve looked at so many ugly campers full of brown patterned walls and horrible configurations, the HC1 caught my eye about 3 years ago and as much as I tried to find something less expensive I kept coming back to the sweet styling and flexibility of the HC1.

Tell us about your camper!

I purchased Rosemary last October from an owner in Arizona and took delivery on my 57th birthday! My friend Lisa was generous enough to allow me to spend the weekend on her property so I felt like I was able to consummate my relationship with Rosemary!

What are your favorite HC features?

I love the way she looks and that everything tucks away into the storage cubes, but I am so happy sleeping and relaxing in my queen sized bed with the hatch open and my winter duvet - I never want to get out of bed!

Best camping trip you’ve taken with your Happier Camper?

So, I’ve only had a few but for Christmas this year I took four of my grown kids camping to a local campsite. It was a spontaneous choice and it couldn’t have been better! The campsite was gorgeous, huge, they all slept in a tent - haha - and we all had a great Christmas!

What’s your next planned camping trip?

I’m sure there will be a few before this but I am planning a trip for next summer through the Rockies up to Lake Louise, west to Vancouver and then south to LA to visit family before heading back to Austin. I hope to be on the road for 10-14 weeks - it’s a dream trip that I’ve had for 10 years or more.

What camping destination is on your bucket list?

That’s my bucket list trip for sure - single destination? I guess it would be Big Bend National Park - relatively close to home but I’ve never been and it won’t be part of my big trip.

Any advice for new owners?

I’ve heard others say it but it’s so true, wait to buy what you think you need, read all the posts on the Facebook feed - you people know what you’re talking about!

And then, sleep in your trailer with the hatch open! There ain’t nothing better!
