Year and Make of your Happier Camper?

HC1 delivered to us in January 2022

What’s your tow vehicle?

Toyota Highlander

Why did you buy a Happier Camper?

Let's face it, it's the cutest. I had always wanted a camper, and since we weren't traveling much during the pandemic, we were able to pay off our debt and finally order one. I had been eyeing the HC1 for a long time. Not only was it the cutest camper I'd ever seen, it seemed like a great entry-level camper for someone who has zero experience towing anything. Before this, we were tent campers for many years.

Tell us about your camper

I have a turquoise and white HC1 with the lifted off road kit, as well as the off-grid solar package with off-grid air conditioning. We did not opt for the kitchen package because we already had cooking supplies. We ordered the bunk bed option because we are a family of 4.

What are your favorite HC features?

We LOVE the retro look! We also chose it because it's small enough to fit in a parking space, only about 1500 pounds, and the only camper with the Adaptiv system. Being in hot and humid south Florida, it is so nice to have a camper I can use off-grid with air conditioning any time during the year. My husband likes serving breakfast and drinks on the outside bar. I love that you can take everything out and sweep/hose it down. The back hatch is a great feature, too.

Best camping trip you’ve taken with your Happier Camper?

I towed my camper across country for 2 months from Florida to Washington state and back again. I visited a lot of national parks, including Badlands, Olympic, North Cascades, Yellowstone, Mt Rainier, Glacier, Indiana Dunes, Cuyahoga, and I was also able to drive the Beartooth Pass Highway.

What’s your next planned camping trip?

Florida Keys

What camping destination is on your bucket list?

I’d love to do more camping out west and also in Canada.

Any advice for new owners?

When hitching up your camper, do the lift test twice. Make sure you're hitched up properly. Double check everything. Take a walk around the camper and make sure you didn't forget to do anything. Make sure your tires are properly inflated and use a tire pressure monitor as you drive.
