Year and Make of your Happier Camper?
2016 HC1, waiting for our 2020 HCT
What’s your tow vehicle?
For the HC1, it was originally a Fiat 500x. For the HCT, we will use a Porsche Macan.
Why did you buy a Happier Camper?
My wife saw the HC1 on Facebook in 2016, did some research and despite us never even having pitched a tent before, took the plunge because it looked fantastic!
Tell us about your camper!
We are awaiting the arrival of our HCT. The fridge will be a welcome addition and being able to leave the bedding in place because of the extra room will be convenient.
What are your favorite HC features?
The modular system is the big selling point for me, being able to reconfigure the interior when necessary. And the cubes provide even more storage than we honestly need.
Best camping trip you’ve taken with your Happier Camper?
The drive back across country from HC’s headquarters in California to our home on the east coast was a fantastic journey. We took in the Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, some spectacular scenery in the southwest, even Roswell, New Mexico! Then the smoky mountains, Daniel Boone forest and Gettysburg further east were just as impressive. Traversing the Cabot Trail in Canada comes a close second.
What’s your next planned camping trip?
Our first expedition in the HCT! A short one, but a chance to try out all the new bells and whistles.
What camping destination is on your bucket list?
I’d like to ship the HCT across to Europe and tour the Austrian Tyrol and Adriatic coast.
Any advice for new owners?
Don’t be overawed. I hadn’t so much as hooked up a ball hitch before we bought the HC1. Enjoy the adventure!
