Last Day in London
Stayed close to the old flat and had a great day - a pint at Ye Grapes Saturday night, dinner at Sofra, Spitalfields on Sunday morning and a relaxed evening dinner upstairs at Ye Grapes. Thank you to my family for coming together for this trip. It was wonderful.

Visit with Roger and Edwina and an 80th birthday lunch
Great evening in the College Arms and then lunch with Roger and Edwina, with special guests Mystery and Val! Made it to London after dropping the car at the airport, hearing of the British Airways 'IT problem' that was causing chaos at the airport. Very hopeful we would get out on time on Monday.

Visit to Castle Caernarvon and a drive through Snowdonia
While our night in Portmeirion was a good one, and the place was sort of quirky and interesting to stay in for a night, if I had to choose I would have done a night in Snowdonia instead. Beautiful beyond words...

A drive along the Welsh Coast to Portmeirion
Epic drive along the Irish Sea, visiting Aberystwyth Castle, Cymmer Abbey and then to Portmeirion to stay in Castell Deudraeth.

Tenby
Started off as overcast and cleared beautifully. Kids started the day with their massages and time in the infinity pool while Mike took a ride with Steve. I had a quiet cup of coffee on the hotel patio and soaked in the cloud. Excellent lunch at The Buccaneer Inn, a wander around Tenby, a visit to Julie's partner Martin's cottage, which was a traditional and restored Welsh home that was set in the most beautiful countryside... and now off to dinner with the family.

Historic Sites - Stonehenge, Bath and Skirrid Mountain Inn - on the way to Tenby
Day Two starts with a quick visit to Stonehenge (you have to buy tickets now), a drive to Bath to see the sites and have lunch, then an hours drive (and into Wales) to the reportedly oldest and perhaps most haunted pub in Wales, the Skirrid Mountain Inn. From there we will skirt the Brecon Beacons on our way to the St. Brides Spa Hotel - and dinner and drinks with the family!

Heading to the UK
Day One will see us traveling on an early BA flight to London, renting a car and heading to Amesbury and the George Hotel, chosen for its quirky charm and the pub downstairs.
